Regional Artist Project Grant Program

Rutherford County Arts Council and eight other arts councils jointly fund and manage a regional grant program for individual artists, with awards of up to $5,000 for a year-long project. This year's program is for performing artists and literary artists. The grants provide individuals with project support for the enhancement of their artistic development. Grant awards may be used for a variety of projects, such as attendance at workshops or master classes, development of a performance piece or the purchase of supplies and materials needed to create new work. The Arts Council provides Mini Grants to support cultural projects which contribute to the quality of life in Rutherford County.
Mini Grants are available to organizations and individuals.
There is no deadline, and application is made by telephone or visit, followed up with a written request.

Recent example: $250 to Isothermal Community College to support Art Hop project.
The Arts Council provides scholarship assistance for music lessons and other direct arts training upon recommendation of qualified teacher- artists. There is no deadline; inquiry should be made by visit or telephone (245-4000).
